Player Story
A top order batter with excellent technique and the ability to play at any pace, Charlie Wakim has become a crucial piece of the puzzle in Tasmania’s batting lineup. Recruited from Sydney in 2017, Wakim has found a new home with the Tigers after displaying excellent form in Sydney’s Premier Cricket division.
Wakim made an impact immediately, scoring a century on his first-class debut for Tasmania in 2018, an innings of 160 that demonstrated his class at the top of the order. The classy left hander has remained a mainstay ever since and added six more half centuries along the way.
Another in a long line of New South Welshman who have found form and flourished in Tasmania, Wakim slots in perfectly behind young openers Ward and Jewell and offers excellent support and cool head for his side.
