The Tasmanian Field of Fame has been in place since 2002 and provides recognition to any senior state representative for either male or female players, or a significant Tasmanian team every second season.
Each Field of Fame selection period allows for a maximum of one team selection, and two players to be selected during a two-year period.
Inductees are chosen based on their positive influence on Tasmanian cricket, leadership, career span, and remarkable individual performances, rather than strict statistical benchmarks.
The Field of Fame's importance lies in its ability to recognize and celebrate those who have shaped Tasmanian cricket through their achievements and leadership.
By considering historic milestones and team accomplishments alongside individual honours, it preserves the heritage of cricket in the state.
Inductees are selected after careful consideration of their contributions, with the panel documenting the process and providing a clear rationale for each choice.
A panel of three people, two of whom are past players form the Awards and Recognition committee, and use their experience within the game to help determine who the best candidates might be.
