Jake Weatherald is an exciting and explosive talent from Darwin who has cemented his spot at the top of South Australia’s batting order.
The left-hander had another strong One-Day Cup campaign last summer, opening the series with a match-winning ton against New South Wales, before scoring another 488 runs throughout the Shield season.
His incredible 150 against Tasmania at Adelaide Oval proved Weatherald has all the tools to become a dominant force in domestic cricket.
Weatherald also produced one of the moments of the 2017-18 season, scoring a century in both innings in the Redbacks’ unlikely victory at the WACA - the last player to achieve the feat was Darren Lehmann in 1999-2000.
He earned third place in last season’s Neil Dansie Medal count and will be eyeing an even bigger summer in 2019-20.
