13-year-old Mia Barwick called in to Hobart Hurricanes T20 Spring Challenge squad

It is with great excitement that Cricket Tasmania can announce that 13-year-old Tasmanian, Mia Barwick has been called into the Hobart Hurricanes squad following Heather Graham being called into the Australian squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Barwick, a talented pace-bowler, took the Cricket Tasmania Premier League by storm last year, in her first season for North Hobart Cricket Club, whilst also performing well at the U16 and U19 Female National Championships.

The Hobart Hurricanes are sitting third on the T20 Spring Challenge ladder and have two more games this week and will be aiming to play in the Finals on Saturday as they look to sew up a top four position.

At only 13 years of age, the Hobart Hurricanes are proud to see a Cricket Tasmania pathways athlete given exposure to the professional game early on in Barwick’s career.

Go well Mia!
