The final piece of the puzzle for the upcoming Australian summer of cricket has been revealed, with Cricket Australia today confirming the domestic fixtures for the upcoming 2023-23 season.
Cricket Australia release 2023-24 Domestic Fixtures
As cricket continues to embrace the post-COVID era, all three domestic competitions will again include a full complement of matches, with a 43-game Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) competition, and 31- and 22-match Marsh Sheffield Shield and Marsh One-Day Cup seasons respectively.
The Male Tigers will be the first of the Tasmanian teams to get their season underway, kicking things off with the one-day format in Victoria. They will get to play three of their seven scheduled Marsh One-Day Cup matches in Tasmania, including one at Launceston’s University of Tasmania Stadium, after successfully hosting the same fixture against Victoria at the venue in 2022-23.
The Tigers Shield campaign will commence next, starting with an away match up against South Australia, beginning October 3. All teams will play a full 10-match home-and-away season, with the Tigers first home match at Blundstone Arena coming against Queensland, beginning on October 27.
As reigning WNCL Champions, the Tigers will have their bye round during the first round of the season, before getting their quest for a three-peat of titles underway against the ACT in Canberra on October 8. This will be their only round of WNCL matches before breaking for the WBBL tournament, before their title defence resumes at home against fellow finalists, South Australia, on December 15.
In all competitions, the top two teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will face off in the Final.
