In a first for Cricket Tasmania, Tasmania will be sending a team to the Australian Country Cricket Championships at the Barossa Valley from Friday 3 January through to Friday 10 January 2025.
Tasmania’s team has a blend of young and up and coming talent, experienced Cricket Tasmania Premier League players, and underage pathways stars.
The side will be coached by Pathways Coach – South, Harry Nichols, and Assisted by Pathways Coach – North West, Marc Simmons.
Nichols is excited by the prospect of having another tournament to test our local talent against some of the best in the country.
“Many of the boys selected ion this squad have come through our local pathway system, with eleven out of the fourteen-man squad having played for our pathways during their junior career.
“To now provide high potential players with further opportunities to represent their state once again, is a great show of our commitment to playing more purposeful, high-level cricket,” said Nichols.
The squad will play five 50 over matches, and four T20 fixtures across a 8-day period, against Queensland, NSW, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia Country teams.
