In exciting news for all Tasmanian cricket fans, two of our Female Tasmanian Tigers have been selected in the Governor-General’s XI to take on England on January 9 2025.
Heather Graham and Amy Smith have been rewarded for strong WBBL and WNCL performances throughout this season to take on England in a 50-over match ahead of the Ashes.
Graham has been part of the travelling 14-man squad to New Zealand for their current December tour, but is yet to play a game, so the Governor-General’s match will give her a great opportunity to showcase her skills ahead of the home Ashes tour in January.
Smith played a vital role with the ball for the Hobart Hurricanes throughout WBBL|10, and has played in underage Australian representative matches, but this will be her first senior representative match, after injury keeping her out of matches in the backend of season 2023-24.
