The Tigers are back playing Sheffield Shield cricket this long weekend in Hobart!
In the Scott Mason Memorial match, the Tasmanian Tigers will be looking to continue their good form against Victoria in the Shield from last season after they defeated the 'Vics' by 57 runs.
The reigning Scott Mason Medallist, Beau Webster, who starred with the bat scoring 167* not out, is unavailable for this match while still on Australian duties and will look to someone else in the Tigers squad to be awarded the Scott Mason Medal this year.
Tasmania will also be aiming to return to winning form in the Shield, and despite sitting last on the Shield table with three home matches out of their next four remaining this season, they will be looking to make amends for their slow start to the Shield to date.
Their last match in the 2024-25 season was arguably one of the more exciting games of Sheffield Shield cricket in Tasmania.
Hosting South Australia, Tasmania fell an agonising two runs short as they were bowled out for 426 in a terrific four-day encounter at Ninja Stadium before Christmas with Tim Ward scoring 142 runs.
Tasmania's squad will look slightly different to this previous match, with Matt Kuhnemann and Mitch Owen both unavailable for selection.
Jeff Vaughan and his coaching staff have elected to bring in uncapped young guns, Aidan O'Connor, Raf MacMillan and Will Prestwidge into the squad for tomorrow's match, along with Kieran Elliott also earning a spot in the squad of thirteen.
If selected, O'Connor, MacMillan, and Prestwidge will all be presented with their Tasmanian baggy green caps before play tomorrow.
Following the end of the match, Winston Mason (Scott Mason's father) will present the Scott Mason Medal to the Player of the Match in this crucial matchup for both sides.
