For anyone who has followed Beau Webster, his selection in the Australian test team comes as no surprise and is great recognition for the most in-form domestic cricketer in Australia over the last eighteen months.

'The Boy from Snug' will be presented with his Baggy Green tomorrow at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the fifth and deciding test against India, as Australia aims to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy once again.

After winning the Sheffield Shield Player of the Season at the end of the 2023-24 season, Webster scored 938 runs for the Tasmanian Tigers at an average of 58.62, paired with 30 wickets at 29.3, his season was compared to the greatest all-round Shield Season of all-time.

Webster's strong form continued in the Sheffield Shield this season scoring 113 against Victoria, before playing in two Australia 'A' matches against India in the lead into the test series where he was one of their most consistent performers.

His dedication, hard-work, and unique skillset will put him in great stead, as he does his state and country proud on the biggest stage of all.

Cricket Tasmania is proud to see one of their pathways graduates get their opportunity to play for Australia, and we know that he won't take a backwards step.

All the best Slug!
