Cricket Tasmania BETASPORT Premier League Roster Released
Friday, 30 July 2010
Cricket Tasmania has released its 2010-11 roster for the newly named BETASPORT Premier League, highlighted by the introduction of Twenty20 cricket to the premiership.
For the past four seasons a separate Twenty20 competition has been conducted, however for 2010-11 and beyond CT has taken the step of fully integrating the three forms of the game in recognition of Twenty20 becoming an established and entrenched form of cricket.
Twenty20 matches have been scheduled prior to Christmas, to enable matches to be conducted prior to the PKF Tasmanian Tigers’ KFC Twenty20 Big Bash campaign and for the premier Twenty20 club to progress to the state-wide Twenty20 competition.
The roster consists of seven two-day, one-day and Twenty20 matches across 21 rounds plus finals. The top two BETASPORT Premier League one-day sides will progress to the finals of the state-wide one-day Kookaburra Cup competition, now in its twenty-fifth year.
Importantly, other Premier League grades will also have the opportunity to experience Twenty20 matches in their 14 round roster and the BETASPORT Premier League Women’s roster will be distributed in September when clubs have finalised their 2010-11 sides.
The BETASPORT Premier League Twenty20 Grand Final will be played on Sunday 12th December at Bellerive Oval.
